Team and funding

BrainTrawler is the result of joint projects between the Biomedical Image Informatics Group at the Research Center for Virtual Reality and Visualization (VRVis), Vienna, Austria, the Haubensak Group (at this time at time) at Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP), Vienna, Austria and Computational Biology & Genomics (CompBio) at Boehringer Ingelheim, Biberach, Germany. The first projects started in 2015 between Biomedical Image Informatics Group and the Haubensak Group, and is continued as project between the Biomedical Image Informatics Group and GCBDS since 2019.

VRVis is funded by BMK, BMDW, Styria, SFG, Tyrol and Vienna Business Agency in the scope of COMET - Competence Centers for Excellent Technologies (879730) which is managed by FFG. Wulf Haubensak was supported by the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP), Boehringer Ingelheim, the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). The extensions of BrainTrawler with the integration of transcriptomic data was funded by Boehringer Ingelheim.
